School board members are among the most effective advocates for legislation and policy that support public education. This award recognizes school board that have developed and implemented model legislative advocacy programs. Strong community partnerships are vital to the success of public schools. The Champions for Public Education Award recognizes community residents, organizations or local businesses whose support of and contributions to public education have significantly benefited an entire school district. Service Awards are presented annually to board members who serve for 10 years and above in five year increments (15, 20, 25, 30, 35 etc.)
